Graduate's Bio

Each graduate's biographical sketch will be printed in the convention program along with his full name and city and state of his residence. Please write a bio that includes the length of time you have been homeschooled, your homeschool activities; special interests, achievements, and scholarships; and your future plans. If you quote a Scripture verse, please specify in parentheses which version of the Bible you have quoted. Example: (KJV).

Please do not exceed 100 words. If the bio exceeds 100 words, HEAV reserves the right to edit as necessary or send it back for revision.

Sample Bio: I have been homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade. During my junior and senior years of high school, I was dual-enrolled at a community college where I earned 40 college credits. My special interests include playing soccer and building model rockets. I have also participated in a number of mission outreaches to Germany, Costa Rica, and inner-city New York. I hope to be able to serve the Lord and His children on the mission field in the coming years. My favorite verses lately have been II Timothy 2:20-21 and Jeremiah 1:5-9.

Graduate's Photo

Just prior to the graduation ceremony, we will have a photo presentation of all the graduates from whom we receive photos. Please consider sharing a favorite photo of your graduate, in JPEG format. It could be a picture of your graduate acting in a favorite theatrical presentation, exhibiting a prize-winning science project, or reading on the sofa in the living room at age six. We suggest that you use a photo without too many people other than the graduate, and that shows more of the graduate and less background. Please choose a photo that will honor your graduate on this special occasion. If we receive a photo that could be considered inappropriate, HEAV reserves the right to crop the photo or refuse it.

Diploma

Our diploma has been specially designed for HEAV graduates. Printed in black thermography on parchment, the certificate will be inscribed with the graduate's name, the graduate's course of study, and the date of graduation. There are signature lines for the graduate's parents, the HEAV president, and the commencement speaker. A navy blue case, embossed with the "lamp of knowledge", encloses the diploma. By sale of this diploma, HEAV does not certify completion of any course of study. Graduates will receive their diplomas during the graduation ceremony - they will not be shipped ahead of time. If you choose not to order a diploma from us, please provide your own for use during the ceremony. Please note that it must be flat, not rolled.

Announcements and Name Cards

Order classic announcements to share with friends and family who want to celebrate this milestone with you! We are happy to offer you a side-fold announcement card with an embossed border. The announcement card measures 5 1/8 in. x 7 1/4 in. and features raised-ink print. Each package includes announcements with traditional inner and outer envelopes and tissue-paper liners. The graduate's name does not appear on the announcement, but name cards, which are sold separately, may be sent along with your announcements. To view the wording of the announcements, click HERE.

All orders will be mailed to you in May. According to traditional etiquette, announcements may be mailed approximately two weeks before through two weeks after the graduation date. Please keep in mind that these are announcements, not invitations or tickets.
