SUBMISSION PROCESS

Step 1: Online Entry Form
This is the online entry form for submitting your stories to the 2014 World Indigenous Journalism Awards. Before you submit your entry online, make sure you read the Submission Guidelines and have the following files ready for each entry:

1. One-page cover letter
2. Transcript of each report (Download WIJA’14 Script Form)
3. Photos of reporters

When you are filling in the online entry form, there is an option to save your form and continue at a later time. Make sure you copy and save the associated link.

Step 2: Upload Videos
Once the online entry form is received and confirmed by the commission, we will send you a link where you can upload your videos. 


Step 3: Entry Payment
The confirmation email from the commission includes an invoice for your entry. Please note that your submission will only be completed when we receive your payment.

DEADLINE: 
Jan. 31, 2014, 11:59 p.m. CST (UTC/GMT +8 hours).

BROADCAST PERIOD:
Entries for WIJA'14 must be reports broadcast between Nov. 1, 2011 and Oct. 31, 2013.

FINALISTS:
Finalists will be announced in May 2014 on our website. All finalists will receive an electronic notification.

AWARDS CEREMONY:
WIJA'14 Gala will be held in Winnipeg, Canada during WITBC ’14, register here.

ENTRY RULES for WIJA 2014

  1. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  2. The entries submitted must be broadcast or published by a broadcast or online media outlet. Nominators must have full rights to each entry.
  3. Each nominator can submit a maximum of 2 entries under each category; a maximum of 30 minutes total per entry.
  4. Nominators agree that their portfolio may be used by WITBN at no cost. Permission for use of material will be requested by the commission and acknowledgement given to entrants when material is used.
  5. Entrants must pay a $200 entry fee within 14 DAYS after they are notified with the payment method by the commission. All local and overseas bank charges are borne by nominator (all charges must be paid in advance.)
  6. The awards are open to all WITBN members, including full members and associate members.
  7. Completed entries should be submitted online with media files uploaded before 11:59 p.m. on January 31, 2014. The WIJA commission and the Judge[s] shall not be responsible for delays in receipt of any entry.
  8. The coverage entered must have been published or broadcasted between November 1, 2011 and October 31, 2013 (both dates inclusive.)
  9. The awards commission and its partners reserve their right to suspend, cancel, or modify the rules and regulations for these Awards at any time and without prior notice.
  10. The awards commission and its partners reserve their right to revoke or cancel an award given to a winner if it is proven that the work submitted violates any of the rules and regulations for these Awards.
