Thank you for considering an in kind donation to support NCTRC. We accept gifts of tack, horse equipment, farm equipment, and other items as needed. To ensure that the organization's limited resources are used wisely, NCTRC reserves the right to refuse a gift in kind that does not meet our needs or purposes. When horse equipment is donated, staff and volunteers evaluate it for use in the program. Items that are not needed or usable within the program are collected throughout the year and sold periodically at tack sales, with all proceeds benefiting the organization.
Because donors do not receive goods or services in exchange for donations, these donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. You will receive, immediately via email, a receipt for your donation, which should be retained for tax purposes. Please note:
-Gifts valued at $500 - $4,999 may require completion and filing of IRS Form 8283, which is the responsibility of the donor. -Gifts valued at $5,000 or more will require completion and filing of IRS Form 8283, in addition to a certified independent appraisal, both of which are the responsibility of the donor. -By law, NCTRC is unable to assign a value to any donated item. If you have questions, please consult your tax advisor prior to donating, as NCTRC is unable to provide tax advice. -For liability reasons, we are unable to accept the donation of helmets, as we cannot verify their safety.
Although we are happy to make arrangements to pick up donated items when possible, please keep in mind that NCTRC operates with a very small paid staff, so we very much appreciate items being delivered to the farm when possible. (Plus, we always love for you to have the opportunity to see your donations at work). To schedule pickup or delivery of items, please email us or call 919-304-1009.
